Ever wanted to draw Star Wars characters and vehicles just like the professional comic book artists? In this step-by-step series, Star Wars artists and illustrators show you how to draw some of the most beloved characters in the saga.

In the final years of the Republic, Jango Fett was regarded as the best bounty hunter in the galaxy. Father to the legendary bounty hunter Boba Fett, it's Jango's image that was eventually replicated over and over again to create the Clone army.

Star Wars illustrator Cat Staggs explains with these easy-to-follow steps on how to draw Jango Fett.

Steps 1-7 are to be drawn lightly with a pencil. No pen, no dark lines. Finished lines and details will come at the end.

Step One:
Begin your face shape as always with a lightly drawn oval. Split this simple shape with one line running vertically and another running horizontally. This is used to create the center of the face and the eye line. Now halve the lower part of the shape creating the nose line and again creating the mouth.
Step Two:
Sketch in simple features of this bounty hunter by using your barebones linear drawing as marking points. Jango has distinctive features, notably a well-defined brow. Add this information lightly and build it slowly by layering.
Step Three:
Refine the face shape with a strong jaw line and a full head of hair. Remember hair has volume and is not flat on the head. Continue using a light pencil hand. Be sure not to over emphasize, build slowly.
Step Four:
Continue to build up Jango's features with brow furrows and other character lines to denote eye sockets, cheeks, upper lip, and of course, a dimple in his chin.
Step Five:
Erase lines that you don't need so that you can help bring your drawing to life.
Step Six:
Now lightly pencil in more information to describe the highlights and dark shadows portions of Jango's face. Remember eventually your lightest lights will sit next to your darkest darks.
Step Seven:
Add the structure of his neck, chest and shoulders with lines that further show Jango's turning pose.
Step Eight:
Now tighten your features to the point that volume and dimension are more obvious.
Step 9:
Fill in the shapes as you like, working with the lightest shadows and move towards the darkest shadows gradually. This final piece includes the addition of color but the theory is the same. Add highlights at the end. Now go collect your bounty!
