What you need:
?One litre plastic milk bottle
?Sand
?50cm grey felt
?One square cream felt (around 30 cm)
?Two pieces of grey fur for the ears (you usually have to buy a minimum of 20cm from a shop)
?Two self-adhesive boggle eyes
?Small piece black felt for nose
?Scissors
?Tracing pen/pencil and cardboard for templates
?Tapestry needle with large eye
?Funnel
?Fabric glue
?Toilet roll or stuffing for head
And, of course, a toy koala (around 40cm high)
How to do:
?Fill empty milk bottle with sand
?Trace outline of your toy koala on a piece of grey felt for the template
?Cut out two koala shapes using the template and pin together
?Stitch together both koala shapes using blanket stitch
?Cut out cream felt tummy, black felt nose and grey fur ears
?Glue on tummy, nose and ears
?Stock on boggle eyes
?Put stuffing into head and toilet roll
?Put toilet roll into neck and fix onto the top of the milk bottle
?Glue front and back of milk bottle
?Slip koala shape over bottle and press tummy and back to bottle mouth |
